We The Band Partners with Brandon Silverstein’s Avex Music Group
Avex Music Group has completed its first artist signing under CEO Brandon Silverstein, adding We The Band to a roster that spans publishing, management and artist development. The group includes five of Justin Bieber’s longtime musical partners: Harv, Tay James, Julian Michael, Devin “Stixx” Taylor and O’Neil Palmer.
The musicians bring established credentials to their new home. James has maintained his role as Bieber’s A&R and DJ for 15 years, while Harv contributed to one of the pop star’s biggest recent successes by co-writing and co-producing “Peaches.” That 2021 hit also marked Harv’s entry into Silverstein’s S10 Publishing roster.
Silverstein highlighted the personal connections that facilitated the deal. “Through my friendships and conversations with both the band and Justin, I saw how much they believe in and inspire each other—not just as collaborators, but as people,” he said. “Harv and Tay’s vision, and the band’s genuine talent, made it clear this was something special with real potential.”
Silverstein Expands Entertainment Operations
The announcement follows Silverstein’s March appointment as Avex Music Group CEO, culminating a five-year partnership between his S10 Entertainment and Japanese media giant Avex Inc. The latest agreement saw Avex acquire complete ownership of S10 Music Publishing while increasing its stake in S10 Management to become the largest shareholder alongside Silverstein and Roc Nation.
Silverstein’s publishing catalog has achieved consistent commercial success, including three positions in Mediabase’s top 20 year-end radio chart. The operation has accumulated over 22 global number-one hits and generated 50 billion streams across platforms.
Recent additions to the roster include producer Elkan, who signed a global publishing deal after creating hits for Drake and Rihanna. Elkan also launched Toibox by Elkan, a joint venture publishing company that exemplifies Silverstein’s approach to artist entrepreneurship.
“We want to back the artist’s vision and the writer’s vision and the producer’s vision and allow them to be their own CEO,” Silverstein explained of his management philosophy.
We The Band is working on their debut album at Avex’s Los Angeles facilities, with plans for special guest appearances throughout the project. The release timeline targets later this year as the group transitions from supporting roles to featured artists within the expanding Avex Music Group ecosystem.
